In a nutshell, blinds are just a type of window covering. Different materials can make them up, such as wood, plastic, and metal. Several long, horizontal or vertical slats of a given material is typically what makes up a blind. And ultimately it is held together by cords, which run through the aforementioned slats. The blinds can then be easily maneuvered. A remote control can be used to lift up the blind. However, you can also go old school and lift it by hand. All of these options are given to you during the design phase. The maneuvering is comprised of rotating the blind from an open position with the slats spaced out to a closed position. Ultimately, the slats overlap and will block out most of the light giving you the desired lighting in the room.
